Abstract
Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) is an international photography competition, organized since 2010 and recognized as the largest photography competition in the world. Since the start of WLM in The Netherlands in 2010 the competition had grown immensely and it has now global dimensions. In 2013 the contest was organized in 35 countries, and brought in more than 350.000 images by 15.000+ participants.
This panel will include members of the 2013 international coordinating team and experienced national Wiki Loves Monuments organizers from multiple countries that can share experiences on how to effectively organize a large scale contest under different circumstances.
Detailed proposal
Wiki Loves Monuments (WLM) is an international photography competition, organized since 2010 and recognized as the largest photography competition in the world. Since the start of WLM in The Netherlands in 2010 the competition had grown immensely and it has now global dimensions. In 2013 the contest was organized in 35 countries, and brought in more than 350.000 images by 15.000+ participants.
This panel will include members of the 2013 international coordinating team and a few experienced national Wiki Loves Monuments organizers from multiple countries that can share experiences on how to effectively organize a large scale contest under different circumstances. The total panel will include 5-7 people from different parts of the world. The exact panel setup will be determined in June 2013 because there will be a better overview of who will be available to join the panel, and which countries will participate in 2013 as well.
