We might go for a trimmed and / or renamed version of this - the friendly space policy is primarily developed for the USA legal system and civil environment. Most of the 2013 local team believe that the implementation of friendly space policy, as it played out in WM2012, was overly sensitive and wouldn't be appropriate for direct importation to WM2013 because of the legal and social differences between Washington DC and Hong Kong. - I never thought of it as a legal policy before - more of a setting the tone type policy. I'll be curious to see what the local team comes up with. I hope it doesn't lack the enumerated categories and info on what not to do and where to go. Were there enforcement problems from last year? I'm only aware of a couple incidents were it was applied. --Varnent (talk)(COI) 16:31, 25 January 2013 (UTC)
- Hmmm. What is the problem with encouraging people to behave respectfully to others of diverse backgrounds? I would be interested to see what you come up with and what you will trim. When you say "overly sensitive", that seems worrisome. What struck you as overly sensitive? I definitely would like to know the basic attitude of the organizers. --Geeklizzard (talk) 00:44, 6 February 2013 (UTC)
